The Power of Veteran Connection | Lester Lumbad on Building Community

What happens when a veteran realizes that some of the most valuable resources available to former service members are also some of the hardest to find?

On this episode of Homefront Harmony, host Stevie Dahl welcomes Lester Lumbad, U.S. Air Force veteran, military spouse, and passionate advocate for the veteran community, to discuss his military journey and the work he’s doing to bring veterans, families, businesses, and organizations together.

After discovering how difficult it could be to navigate veteran entrepreneurship and community resources, Lester founded the Southern Nevada Veterans Chamber of Commerce, which has since evolved into the Veterans Community and Founders Exchange (VCFX). His mission is to make resources more accessible, strengthen relationships, and help veterans find the support and opportunities they deserve.

Lester also shares his work with Merging Vets and Players (MVP), a peer-support community that brings military veterans and former professional athletes together through fitness, honest conversations, and shared experiences.

Sometimes the most powerful resource isn’t a program or a website. It’s finding someone who understands what you’re going through.

Whether you’re a veteran, active-duty service member, military spouse, or someone looking for ways to support the military community, this conversation is a reminder that connection can make all the difference.
